Alora and I come from the same little community in central Virginia, and we graduated from the same the tiny high school. So, when she contacted me about shooting her wedding, I was THRILLED to be working with another Grace grad. We share a love for blush and gold, and I am so lucky to get to work with a bride like her!
For Alora & Frankie’s engagement session, we went to the JMU Arboretum. Fall colors were in peak season, but we had beautiful, summer-like weather – it was absolutely perfect! We did overlook the fact that it was homecoming weekend… so, Harrisonburg was a BIT crowded, but we managed to find some privacy at the Arboretum.
One of the things Alora said she loves most about Frankie is his smile. I can see exactly what she means! I loved meeting & photographing her handsome family. This engagement session was extra special. You may notice there’s an adorable little boy in some of these photos. Dink (Frankie, Jr.) got to join us for the session, and he was the star of the show! Alora is not only becoming a wife, but also becoming this little one’s step-mother. You can tell he loves her very much.
Even when he was off-screen, Dink never stopped smiling for his photo. Which only made the couple smile/laugh herder 🙂 Thanks for the help, Dink!
This little spot was my favorite pop of fall color. Look how perfectly it complements Alora’s dress! Flawless!
Alora picked the perfect day, the perfect location, and the perfect outfits. She is really nailing this whole wedding planning thing, and I’m so excited to watch it all come together. I love this next set of photos… my favorite part of every session is when the clients stop smiling at the camera, and start giggling with each other. That’s exactly what happened here. Look how he makes her light up!
Dink had a blast chasing ducks, jumping off rocks, and exploring the arboretum.
It’s just three months and a couple weeks until their big day! I’m so glad I get to be a part of it. I love, love, love Alora’s engagement ring! It matches her sweet personality.
Thanks for spending the day with me, guys! I can’t wait for your March wedding. It will be the kick-off of wedding season for me, and I’m so glad you chose me as your wedding photographer. Your family is beautiful, your session was so much fun, and I can’t wait to meet the rest of your friends and family that will celebrate your wedding with you. Happy engagement!
