Wedding Vendor Guide

Bryan and Lindsey got married at Mountain View Farm in Mt Solon, Virginia. They got to enjoy the first of the Shenandoah Valley fall foliage with their early October wedding weekend. Lindsey was previously a wedding planner and owns her own custom crafts and cupcakes business, so I knew the details were going to be so well done! Mountain View Farm lived up to the name. The weather blessed us with amazing views of the sunset in the valley. Virginia has so many amazing wedding venues, but some of these small rural spots are my favorite! Best of all, they prioritized wedding photography in their planning, so I got to give them a gorgeous collection of wedding portraits.
Lindsey had a vision for her wedding, and she absolutely executed! Through her custom item company, Wandering Lou LLC, she created all the signage and wedding invitations, her reception cupcakes, custom boutonnières and corsages, and many of the décor items you see in the reception. She designed the perfect Virginia fall wedding aesthetic, with velvet textures, vintage glassware, and pampas grass elements for their modern boho wedding arch. The leaf etching on their sweetheart table echoed the fall focus, as well as the seeds and nuts in the wedding favors. The colors in the florals and wedding details mirrored the gorgeous sunset in Mt Solon that evening!
I loved my experience working at Mountain View Farm. First, the views are gorgeous! The name rings true. We had a spectacular spot on a hill up above the venue to capture wedding portraits with the entire grounds in the background. The leaves began to turn just before their wedding weekend, giving them the first of the fall foliage.
Second, the layout of the venue and welcoming staff make it extremely easy to work there. The bride and groom had separate places to get ready for their day. The planning team was able to set up the ceremony and reception spaces simultaneously, making it easy for me to photograph all the details before the day began. Plus, all the buildings on the property are just steps from one another. I was able to move between parts of the day without wasting transition time. It was a logistical dream!
These two are the type to wear their heart on their sleeves. Maybe not every day, but especially when it comes to one another. They chose to exchange gifts and letters privately a few moments before their wedding ceremony, carefully hiding from each others’ view as they prayed over their new beginning. Both families were so supportive and emotional seeing this couple come together. There were plenty of tears shed in support!
