Fall engagement Photos at the Clifton Inn, Charlottesville, Virginia

I met up with Steven and Jordana at the Clifton Inn this fall in Charlottesville, Virginia, almost exactly a year before their November 2024 wedding back in the very same place. They opted for a luxury engagement session complete with hair and makeup by Kelsea of Radiant Reflection, a location and outfit change. You only get married once, why not go all out!

Of course, Moose (their golden!) was joining us for the session and was a perfect companion, sitting and looking at the camera right on cue. Dogs in weddings and sessions are becoming a regular thing with my clients, and I’m thrilled about it!

The perfect Charlottesville venue for an engagement session

The Clifton was the perfect property with so much variety for their engagement session. While we couldn’t take advantage of the pool area or interiors while Moose was with us, we got so much variety around the rest of the property. The secret garden area, enclosed with a rough stone arch, is the very spot where these two will get married! We explored the front and side lawns, found some fall color, and took a walk down to the waterfront area where the Shenandoah Valley was truly showing off its fall beauty. The camera doesn’t do it justice.

Fall engagement portraits in the park

After an outfit change into something comfy and casual, we went to a local park to let Moose walk off some energy. I always tell couples to pick at least one look and location that is comfortable, represents you well, and could be like a typical date night for you. They were definitely in their element here!

Celebrating soon at the Clifton Inn Wedding Venue

It was wonderful seeing these two again, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the Clifton in November, along with Brooke of Lemondrop Events Co. It’s going to be beautiful!
