As your Charlottesville proposal photographer, our job is to preserve this once-in-a-lifetime moment with care, discretion, and emotional intuition.

This isn’t just a photo op. It’s the beginning of your next chapter.

We’re here to make the photography part easy. After you book, we’ll go over your plans together—timing, lighting, and where you want to pop the question—so we can blend in seamlessly and capture everything without spoiling the surprise.

We can also design the space for you! Whether you’re envisioning a scenic overlook at sunset or a cozy, candlelit corner of your home, we’ll help you scout the location and bring any floral or design elements you need to life.

You’ll have the space to focus on what matters—being present, staying grounded, and asking the biggest question of your life—without worrying about the logistics.

Once the question’s been asked (and answered), we’ll ease into a few relaxed portraits together. Nothing formal, just real connection.

Proposal sessions start at $650.
And if you decide to book your wedding photography with us, too? We’ll apply the full proposal session fee as a credit toward your wedding package.

The Planning

After you book, we’ll talk through your vision, location ideas, and timing so everything feels natural, and the surprise stays a surprise. We will also coordinate any small touches, such as florals, candles, or setup details.

The Where

This is entirely up to you! We love taking photos at locations that are special to you, and we have photographed couples around parks, restaurants, city streets, and even their own living rooms! The day of

We’ll arrive early, set up the decor, stay out of sight, and discreetly document the moment. Afterward, you’re welcome to stay for a few relaxed portraits.

The celebration

You’ll receive a sneak peek within 48 hours and your full gallery shortly after. And if you book your wedding with us? Your proposal session is on us—we’ll credit the full $650 toward your wedding package.

I was very stressed planning a surprise proposal for my girlfriend. I knew I wanted to do it on Skyline Drive, but I wasn’t sure which overlook, if logistically that would even be possible to have a photographer hide and get the shots, and how I should even begin coordinating that day. 

When I reached out to Jo, she shared articles as well as personal recommendations to accomplish what I was looking for, responded quickly, and put my mind at ease.

On the actual day, she was in place and ready for us like clockwork. She made my now fiancé, and I feel very comfortable the entire time directing us on how to best pose and included our dog in the shoot as well! She took her time with us and was so genuinely happy for us, too. She even gave us flowers from her garden!

Then, within hours, we had already gotten our first photo previews of the shoot, which was so unexpected. My fiancé was blown away by the photos and said that she didn’t realize how fast everything happened, and having these pictures allowed us to go back and relive every bit of it!
