Alanis and Ricky’s Pastel Spring Wedding at Lovingston Winery in Virginia

A Dreamy Spring Morning at Lovingston Winery

Alanis and Ricky got married on a picture perfect spring morning at Lovingston Winery, and it was one of those rare wedding days that just felt easy and breezy from start to finish. Lovingston Winery is a small, family owned working winery tucked away in Lovingston, Virginia, open during the week for tastings and guests, and it’s honestly one of our favorite venues to shoot. There’s a beautiful white farmhouse on site with a charming three pane bay window and window seat, where we hung Alanis’ dress and styled some of her details, dreamy and full of natural light. The groom and his guys got ready in a cabin just down the road. And there are a couple of beloved horses that live on the property, grazing in the field right next to the ceremony site. It makes for the sweetest backdrop.

Getting Ready and a Sweet First Look

Alanis had a beautiful first look with her dad before the ceremony, a quiet, special moment before the day got going. Her bridesmaids wore mismatched floral dresses in soft spring tones, and instead of bouquets they each carried little woven baskets filled with fresh flowers. The florals for the day were gorgeous overall, and the florist built a stunning ground meadow arch for the ceremony space.

Golden Hour in the Vineyard

Golden hour was a definite highlight, with Alanis and Ricky running through the vineyard rows and a big, dreamy veil draped over both of them for some of our favorite portraits of the whole day.

A Reception Full of Heart

Later in the reception Alanis changed into a short, fun, flirty dress to dance the night away in. And since their family is Polynesian, they closed out the night with a beautiful lei exchange, a really meaningful nod to her heritage. Working with planner Caitlin of Champagne Wishes is always a treat, and this wedding was no exception. Alanis and Ricky, congratulations again. Thank you for letting us capture your beautiful day at Lovingston Winery.
