I have created this list to help you narrow down your search for the ideal Central Virginia wedding venue to match your budget, aesthetic, and guest count.

Central Virginia Vineyard Wedding Venues
King Family Vineyards – Crozet
King Family Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that doubles as a wedding and event venue, and is located just outside of Charlottesville in Crozet. The property features a carriage house as well as outdoor space, and can host events year-round. This iconic Central Virginia wedding venue can house up to 200 guests. King Family does not include catering as part of their packages, but does require couples to use a caterer from their approved list. The cost of weddings at King Family varies by day of the week and season, but ranges from $4,750 – $12,000.
Pippin Hill Farm – North Garden
Pippin Hill Farm describes themselves as a “culinary vineyard in the heart of Virginia’s wine country,” and hosts some of Charlottesville’s most elegant weddings and events. Pippin Hill provides in-house farm-to-table catering as well as event services included in each package. This upscale venue has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides Magazine, and Vogue, and has multiple event spaces to choose from. Base rates for weddings at Pippin Hill range from $7,000 – $22,000 depending on day of the week and season, with food and beverage minimums ranging from $19,000 – $55,000.
Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery – Afton
Hazy Mountain is a picturesque estate featuring timeless Tuscan architecture, 35 acres of vines, and panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Parkway. There are several event spaces on the property including a stunning villa that can sleep up to 14 guests. The wedding venue holds up to 200 guests for events and requires a 75 guest minimum. Rental rates range from $18,000 – $30,000 depending on day of the week and season, with an additional required food and beverage package.
Early Mountain Vineyards – Madison
Early Mountain offers modern facilities with breathtaking views of the surrounding farm and Blue Ridge Mountains. The event hall features a stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings, and holds up to 200 guests. Their package includes day-of coordination services, 12 hours of time on-site, and several spaces for the wedding party and guests to use. Keswick Vineyards – Keswick
Located just ten minutes outside of Charlottesville in one of the most elegant parts of Virginia wine country, Keswick Vineyards offers pristine grounds, rolling farmland, and sweeping mountain views. Their full-day rental package includes access to the grounds and an elegant Aurora reception tent. Veritas Vineyards and Winery – Afton
Veritas is one of Virginia’s most award-winning wineries and sought-after wedding venue destinations, and features panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains, fine wines, and upscale cuisine. The venue offers three spaces for couples to choose from depending on guest count, and can hold up to 100 guests. Currently, the cost to rent Veritas for weddings is between $11,000 – $13,000 with a $20,000 food and beverage minimum.
Castle Hill Cider – Keswick
Although Castle Hill is not technically a winery, it deserves a spot among the top wedding venues in the Charlottesville area. This historic orchard features both indoor and outdoor spaces including the tasting room, bridal suite, and loft, and can accommodate up to 350 guests, making it one of the larger venues on this list. Valley Road Vineyards – Crozet
Valley Roads boasts one of the best sunset views in the Charlottesville area. The hilltop above the vines offers a picaresque place to commemorate your wedding day. They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony location, shaded lawn and deck for cocktail hour, separate suites for both partners to get ready on site, and a beautiful neutral dining area for a sit down dinner for up to 150 guests. The barn offers a large space for dancing the night away. Wedding packages begin at $5,250 for weekday packages and $8,500 for peak weekends.
Charlottesville Area Historic Estate Wedding Venues
Farmington Country Club – Charlottesville
Farmington Country Club offers couples a blend of classic country club ambiance with all the luxurious amenities of a modern club. This venue has the best of both worlds, located right in the city of Charlottesville, but still featuring a large estate with mountain views. Farmington Country Club can accommodate up to 250 guests and boasts multiple event rooms for couples to choose from. Contact their planning team directly for pricing.
Boars Head Inn – Charlottesville
The Boars Head Inn Resort & Spa is another idyllic wedding venue destination that features a classic – meets – contemporary aesthetic with stunning grounds, fine dining cuisine, and a number of outdoor activities for your weekend guests to enjoy. Boars Head offers couples several packages that are priced per guest, flat-rate options for smaller events, and numerous add-ons such as golf outings, spa treatments, and day-after brunch. The Clifton Inn – Charlottesville
This boutique hotel situated on 100 acres is located only minutes from downtown Charlottesville and features an elegant manor house, garden cottages, and an award-winning on-site restaurant. The Clifton Inn offers couples the option to book their venue for day-of or full weekend events. The inn itself can sleep up to 39, with space for up to 300 reception guests. Central Virginia Modern Ballroom Wedding Venues
The American Hotel – Staunton
Located in the historic Wharf area of downtown Staunton, this unique ballroom was originally built in 1855 by the Central Virginia Railroad Company, and their Grand Ballroom has been maintained in the Mid 19th Century style for weddings of up to 200 guests. The interior features exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and hardwood floors throughout. Rental rates for the American Hotel range from $2.750 – $5,000. The American Hotel does allow couples to bring in outside catering.
Madison at the Mill – Orange, Virginia
Located about 25 minutes from Charlottesville in the small town of Orange, Madison at the Mill describes themselves as a “mix of industrial history with modern glam.” This all-indoor venue features separate spaces for your ceremony and reception, an in-house coordinator, and space for up to 500 guests. The Blackburn Inn and Spa – Staunton, Virginia
Combining a historic property, charming small town, and modern ballroom look, the Blackburn Inn is a unique place to host a wedding in Virginia. The Blackburn has four different locations for your ceremony and reception on site, with both indoor and outdoor accommodations. Their ballroom seats up to 300 guests. Depending on the venue selection, weddings begin at $6,000 to $12,000, and the Blackburn offers many upgrades and convenient rentals like chairs, linens, and décor.

Montfair Resort Farm – Crozet
This farm resort located just outside of Charlottesville has a little bit of everything for you and your wedding guests – indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, overnight guest accommodations, and over 129 acres of woodlands and scenery to enjoy. Sky Ridge Farm – Waynesboro
This family-owned farm located in Waynesboro has been specially curated as an ideal wedding venue with stunning mountain views, getting ready suites, a white barn, and space for up to 200 guests. Red August Farm – Waynesboro
Located in the Shenandoah Valley surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Red August Farm offers multiple outdoor spaces and a classic red barn as the backdrop for your wedding day. Their weekend package is $8,000 and includes exclusive access to the private farm Friday – Sunday, freedom to choose your own vendors, a deluxe bridal suite apartment, groom’s lounge, and other amenities.
Big Spring Farm VA – Lexington, Virginia Wedding Venue
If you imagine getting married surrounded by nature, with huge weeping willows and water features nearby, maybe under a big sailcloth tent… this is the spot! Big Spring Farm is a wedding venue located in Lexington, VA and offers a large, private property for larger outdoor celebrations. The post and beam barn fits 150 and works as a great rain plan. However, the farm in general can host much larger events.

Mountain View Farm – Mount Solon Virginia Wedding Venue
Just like the name implies, the views here live up to the hype. Located in August County in Mount Solon, VA, Mountain View Farm offers a barn-style reception venue that overlooks the valley, with the sun setting just outside the barn window. Imagine your first dance with that background!
Mountain View is on the smaller side, capping at about 100 guests. They are not climate controlled, so their season is typically mid March to mid November. They offer heaters during chilly fall days, but not full HVAC. I recently photographed a wedding with about 50 guests in 40 degree weather there. It was slightly chilly, but still a comfortable celebration!
