Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery – Charlottesville, VA

Set on 1,300 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery pairs Virginia’s largest vineyard with a 26,000 square foot, 11 bedroom mansion for overnight stays. Couples choose between the rustic-elegant Barn & Pavilion, which holds up to 150 guests, or the Grand Hall, which holds up to 200, and a private chapel with a hand painted ceiling is included with either. Full wedding packages start around $7,000 to $9,000 off peak, climbing higher for peak season Saturdays, and the venue provides in-house catering along with heated and air conditioned indoor and outdoor spaces. With the mansion just steps away, this is one of the few local venues where the wedding party and close family can genuinely stay the whole weekend without leaving the property.

Eastwood Farm and Winery – Charlottesville, VA

Set along the Carters Mountain range just five miles from downtown, Eastwood Farm and Winery is one of the closest true farm and vineyard settings to the city itself, no long drive into the countryside required. The 77-acre property offers three main event spaces: a hilltop overlook perfect for mountain-view ceremonies, open terraces with a 100 by 40 foot sailcloth tent for the reception, and an apple and pear orchard that’s ideal for a micro ceremony or first look. Packages accommodate up to 200 guests and start around $8,000 to $9,000 off peak, climbing to $10,000 to $12,000 for peak season, with tables, chairs, a luxury restroom trailer, and a catering tent included. Eastwood provides on-site catering facilities, a nice perk since it means outside caterers have real infrastructure to work with rather than a bare field, and the three-bedroom Winery Cottage gives the wedding party a place to get ready or stay for the whole weekend.

A large white event tent at Eastwood Farm Winery stands on a grassy lawn, with stone steps leading up to it, surrounded by green trees and shrubs—perfect for those seeking vineyard wedding venues in Charlottesville.

Chiswell Vineyards – Charlottesville, VA

Chiswell stands out for its sweeping mountain views and flexibility. Nearly every corner of the property looks toward the Blue Ridge, making it a photographer’s dream for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. Unlike a lot of venues in the area, Chiswell allows couples to bring their own vendors entirely, whether that means a laid-back food truck reception or a full multi-course dinner. The reception tent is a spacious sailcloth design that blends outdoor charm with indoor comfort. Contact the venue directly for current pricing and guest count details.

Mountain & Vine Vineyards and Winery (formerly DelFosse) – Faber, VA

Set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, Mountain & Vine offers 300 acres and 17 acres of vines to spread out on, with both a mountaintop ceremony site and a heated, air conditioned 4,000 square foot event hall for the reception. The property can host up to 250 seated or 350 for a cocktail-style event, though smaller elopement packages are available too, starting around $5,000. Catering is exclusively in-house, and only one wedding is hosted per weekend, so couples never have to share the space or rush their timeline.

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard – Keswick, VA

Merrie Mill sits on a historic 413-acre estate just outside Charlottesville, with a ceremony site framed by Petit Manseng grapevines and the Southwest Mountains as a backdrop. The whimsically decorated Tasting Room, complete with two 11-foot copper bars, hosts cocktail hour, and the Old Riding Ring Lawn accommodates a tented dinner and dancing for up to 200 guests. The venue includes an onsite coordinator and welcomes outside vendors of your choosing, giving couples more flexibility on catering than many of the area’s other vineyard venues. Contact directly for current pricing.

A large white farmhouse with a blue roof sits beside outdoor seating areas shaded by blue-and-white and pink-and-white umbrellas on a grassy lawn under a partly cloudy sky, offering an idyllic setting as one of the most charming Charlottesville VA wedding venue options.

Mount Fair Vineyard – Crozet, VA

Worth noting up front: Mount Fair Vineyard is a completely separate property from Montfair Resort Farm, they happen to sit directly across the street from each other in Crozet, so it’s an easy mix-up. Mount Fair is a family-owned equestrian farm and vineyard dating back to the mid-1700s, with the Paddock House serving as a charming home base for the wedding party and a wrap-around porch that seats 50 for a rehearsal dinner. The property books exclusively for the full weekend, so couples get the grounds, greenhouse, and gardens entirely to themselves. Pricing runs around $8,500 to $10,000.

This is a genuinely new addition to the Charlottesville wedding scene and a strong pick for couples who want serious history paired with a fully modern renovation.

The Market at Grelen – Somerset, VA

Set on a 1,000-acre tree nursery about 30 minutes from Charlottesville, The Market at Grelen offers some of the most varied event spaces in the area: a greenhouse, a shaded berry field, a bluestone terrace, and a 4,500 square foot clear-top tent for stargazing receptions. This venue almost deserves its own category in this roundup! They are also building a glass conservatory for the 2027 season. The venue can accommodate up to 250 seated guests. Full wedding packages start around $6,000 off peak and $13,500 for peak dates, with most 100-guest weddings starting around $50,000 once catering and vendors are factored in. It’s a wonderful option for couples who want a garden party feel with more variety in backdrop than a single ceremony site and reception hall.

Great Marsh Estate – Bealeton, VA (worth the drive!)

A bit further out from Charlottesville but worth the drive, Great Marsh Estate centers around a restored Georgian manor set on over 121 acres of lawn and woodland (fans of Netflix’s Love Is Blind may recognize it from Season 7). The Stables, a mid-1800s barn turned reception hall, comfortably holds up to 200 guests. Rental starts around $7,500 to $8,500 and includes exclusive catering through the venue’s partner, Serendipity Catering. There’s no overnight lodging on site, but the bridal suite and groom’s lounge make for a gorgeous home base while you get ready.

The Inn at Willow Grove – Orange, VA

About 25 minutes from Charlottesville, The Inn at Willow Grove pairs early Virginia charm with a fully renovated estate, including an event barn, guest cottages, and garden pathways. The venue accommodates up to 150 guests and site fees start around $13,900 for peak season, with a two-night, 12-room minimum required as part of most packages. Catering is exclusively in-house. It’s a favorite for couples who want a slower, weekend-long celebration, with staff who encourage you to arrive Friday, enjoy the on-site spa, and let vendors handle setup so you can actually relax before your big day.

The venue offers a flexible mix of spaces, from the intimate Broadcloth Dining Room to the airy Main Hall, and can accommodate anywhere from 10 to 360 guests depending on which you choose. The Wool Factory requires in-house catering, led by Executive Chef Tucker Yoder, and packages range from about $2,000 to $36,000 depending on guest count and space. It’s a wonderful pick for couples who want that downtown, industrial-chic feel without sacrificing an elevated dining experience.

The Doyle (Formerly Quirk Hotel) – Charlottesville, VA

Built into two adjacent 19th century homes in downtown Charlottesville, The Doyle Hotel brings an art-forward, boutique feel that’s a departure from the area’s more traditional venues. The rooftop is the standout space, offering mountain sunset views for both ceremonies and receptions. Pricing starts around $5,000. The Doyle is a great pick for couples who want a downtown, walkable wedding with a more eclectic, gallery-like aesthetic than a typical ballroom or barn.

Old Metropolitan Hall – Charlottesville, VA

Right on the Downtown Mall, Old Metropolitan Hall is a beautifully restored ballroom and banquet hall that gives couples an elegant, walkable option in the heart of the city. The space accommodates up to 150 guests for a full reception, or up to 80 for a ceremony-only event, making it just as suited to an intimate celebration as a larger one. Weddings here start around $4,470 for 50 guests, and Old Metropolitan Hall allows outside catering from an approved list of local caterers. If you’re picturing a wedding weekend that lets guests walk to dinner, drinks, and their hotel afterward, this is the spot.

Keswick Hall – Keswick, VA

Keswick Hall is one of the most polished, resort-style options near Charlottesville, offering a classic ballroom wrapped in windows along with an outdoor amphitheater and tented lawn that can host up to 400 guests. Food and beverage minimums typically run from $130 to $185 per person, so most weddings here land well into five figures overall, and catering is exclusively in-house. The real draw for a lot of couples is the lodging: with dozens of guest rooms on property, Keswick Hall makes it easy to host a full wedding weekend without anyone leaving the grounds.

Potter’s Craft Cider – Charlottesville, VA

Just ten minutes from downtown, Potter’s Craft Cider occupies a beautifully renovated 100-year-old stone church, one of the more unexpected and striking backdrops on this list. The Chapel, with its whitewashed exposed rafters and wall-to-ceiling windows, makes for a stunning ceremony space, while the South Hall carries the original 18-inch stacked stone walls and two fireplaces beneath a soaring 40-foot ceiling for the reception. The property can host up to 200 guests, with additional outdoor terraces and a bocce court for cocktail hour, and partial-day rentals run from about $8,500 to $12,000 depending on the day, with full-day buyouts closer to $11,500 to $15,000. Potter’s own cider and wine are served by venue staff, but any other alcohol or full catering requires bringing in an outside licensed caterer or bar service, and there’s a $300 cider case minimum built into the rental. It’s a great fit for your Unique/Industrial section alongside The Wool Factory and Old Metropolitan Hall, since the converted-church setting has that same character-driven, non-vineyard feel.

Mount Ida is home to four distinct wedding spaces across its sprawling 5,000-acre reserve: the historic Lodge, the restored Event Barn, the lakeside Water’s Edge, and the Tasting Room & Taphouse, so couples can pick the backdrop that fits their vision, from rolling pastures to a lakeside manor setting. Every space comes with state-of-the-art caterer’s kitchens, backup generators, and even shuttle buses built into the package. Event Barn rentals start around $3,750 to $9,000, and overnight accommodations, including the nine-bedroom 1795 manor house, can be added for an additional fee. This is one I’ve had the pleasure of photographing myself, and the variety of settings on one property makes it a favorite for wedding weekends.

The Barn at Tiffin Farm – Free Union, VA

Just 20 minutes northwest of Charlottesville, The Barn at Tiffin Farm sits at the heart of a working regenerative farm, surrounded by pasture, a pond, and Blue Ridge Mountain views. The newly renovated barn holds up to 200 guests, with the North Hall suited for dinner and the Main Hall built for dancing, and garage doors and French doors that open up to let guests spill out onto the patio when the weather’s nice. Rental starts around $10,500 and the venue is exclusive use, meaning you get the whole property to yourselves, but couples do need to hire their own licensed caterer since Tiffin Farm doesn’t offer in-house catering or a catering kitchen, just a covered staging area for your vendor to work from. There’s no overnight lodging on site. It’s a favorite of mine since I got to photograph a beautiful spring wedding there myself, and the natural light in that barn is some of the best I’ve worked with. Mountain View Farm – Mount Solon Virginia Wedding Venue

Just like the name implies, the views here live up to the hype. Located in August County in Mount Solon, VA, Mountain View Farm offers a barn-style reception venue that overlooks the valley, with the sun setting just outside the barn window. Imagine your first dance with that background!

Mountain View is on the smaller side, capping at about 100 guests. They are not climate controlled, so their season is typically mid March to mid November. They offer heaters during chilly fall days, but not full HVAC. I recently photographed a wedding with about 50 guests in 40 degree weather there. It was slightly chilly, but still a comfortable celebration!

Pricing is available if you reach out directly. I do love recommending this venue, as it’s just a few minutes down the road from me! I know my way around the space and would love to keep coming back.

The five bedroom home sleeps the wedding party comfortably on site, while the adjacent party barn and open fields give couples plenty of room for a tent, a rehearsal dinner, or a morning after brunch. Guests consistently praise its secluded, intimate feel and the flexibility to bring in whatever caterer and vendors they like, since the venue doesn’t require an in house option. It’s a great fit for a micro wedding or a full weekend buyout, especially for couples who want their whole guest list under one roof rather than shuttling between a ceremony site and a hotel.

Check out this real fall wedding from Old Metropolitan Hall.

The Villa at Hazy Mountain – Afton, VA

Just down the hill from Hazy Mountain’s main event spaces, The Villa is a European-style manor built specifically for smaller celebrations, ideal for couples who want that same Tuscan-inspired, mountaintop setting on a more intimate scale. The Villa accommodates weddings of 25 to 50 guests, with lush gardens and space both indoors and out, and sleeps up to 14 overnight guests, so the wedding party can stay right on property. Pricing runs on a two night minimum stay starting around $4,600 to $4,800, plus a required event fee and food and beverage minimum of about $10,000 that includes full-service planning and venue coordination, and a beverage package running $75 to $85 per person. It’s a great option for couples who love the Hazy Mountain look and views but want a true micro wedding experience rather than the full 200-guest venue. In fact, my spouse and I are planning our ten year anniversary vow renewal here and are loving the service so far! They have incredible views and great food selection.

A large beige house with a red tile roof sits amid lush greenery, with a gravel driveway, manicured bushes, and trees in front. In the background under a cloudy sky, the hillside rises gently behind another building—perhaps home to friends or family like Paige or Michaela—completing this tranquil scene.

Knight’s Gambit Vineyard – Charlottesville, VA

Knight’s Gambit is a true hidden gem for couples wanting something small and unfussy. The vineyard’s Grove offers an open-air ceremony surrounded by oak trees and mountain views, with the tasting room and covered deck available for cocktail hour before moving into a tented dinner space. Rental runs around $5,500 in season, and the vineyard allows outside caterers, though wine must be purchased through Knight’s Gambit itself. It’s an especially good option for a relaxed, wine-country feel on a smaller budget.
